The Short Story: Five Ram men earned top-three finishes on day two, including an Atlantic 10 title for junior
Lewis Freeman in the 500-meter dash, on the way to a fourth place team finish in the A-10 Championships to complete the indoor season.
SPRINTS
- Freeman surged late in the fast heat of the 500m to secure the win in a time of 1:04.85
- Senior Kacey Pratt took runner-up honors in the 400m, sprinting the two-lap race in 48.65
- Senior Gordon Smith took home the bronze medal in the 60m, clocking in at 6.90. Fellow senior Lamar Davis was right behind him in fourth with a time of 6.92
HURDLES
- Senior Emmanuel Waller finished sixth overall in the 60m hurdle final with a time of 9.16, contributing three points to the team score
DISTANCE
JUMPS
- In the high jump, senior Christian DuBois jumped a new personal best clearance of 2.05m (6'-8.75"), placing fifth overall. Junior Trevor Thomas finished sixth, and he leapt 1.97m (6'-5.5") on his best jump of the day
- Senior DeJon Mayo won the silver medal for the triple jump, landing in the sand pit at 14.80m (48'-6.75") on his best effort of the day. Sophomore David Coles was fourth at 14.58m (47'-10") while senior Mohamad Abdelrahman took home fifth place with a jump of 14.52m (47'-7.75")
THROWS
- Senior Jaekob Vollbrecht brought home his second bronze medal of the meet by placing third in the shot put with a best mark of 16.57m (54'-4.5"). His fellow seniors Coby Cockrell (fifth/15.63m) and Justin Barnett (seventh/15.19m) also scored points for the Rams in that event
