LEXINGTON, Ky. – VCU freshman
Presten Augustin (Palm Gardens, Fla.) set a school record and advanced into the quarterfinal round on the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round Wednesday at the UK Track Complex.

Augustin sprinted to the tape in 13.82 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to eclipse Daiqwaun Faircloth's previous school record of 13.84, set in 2023. The effort registered 24
th in the 48-man field and will send Augustin into the quarterfinal round Friday at 6:15 p.m. in Lexington. The top 12 runners from that race will receive berths to the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 10-13 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Augustin, who also qualified for the East First Round in the 400-meter hurdles, clocked 52.90 Wednesday on the way to 46
th to close out his freshman campaign in that event. A native of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Augustin captured the Atlantic 10 Conference title in 400 hurdles earlier this month and collected silver in the 110.
