The short story: The Rams grabbed several top-10 finishes at the Patriot Games Saturday.
 
WOMEN

• Sophomore Taylor James placed seventh in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 9.54, set in the prelims, is a personal best
• Freshman Cassidy Guyton clocked 5:22.57 in the mile, setting a new personal best in the event
• Junior Kasandra Aulenbach made her debut in the 1000-meter run, running 3:10.67
• Sophomore Kristen Wheatley placed fourth in her heat of the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:01.89

 
 
MEN

• Sophomore Jaden Mitchell grabbed a runner-up finish in the 400-meter dash, turning in a time of 52.59
• Freshman Paul Adelugba and junior Corey Bannister placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 500-meter dash
• Kendall Phillips, Bannister, Jared Knight, and Jaden Luczak placed fifth in the distance medley relay, while Kyle Weldon, Adelugba, Nahim Abdallah, and Noah Peterson placed seventh

VCU travels to Virginia Beach, Va. to compete at the Richard Drake Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 6. The meet, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan, will be held at the new Virginia Beach Sports Center.
