The Short Story: Senior
Kacey Pratt won the 400-meter dash in a personal-best time of 47.99 seconds, one of nine top-three performances by the Ram men at the Brant Tolsma Invite at Liberty University.
SPRINTS
- In addition to the 400, Pratt also set a personal record in the 200-meter dash, completing one lap around the indoor track in 21.87, good for fourth place in that event
- Graduate student Lamar Davis and junior Justin Wallace both made the final in the 60-meter dash. Wallace crossed the line in fourth in 6.93 while Davis dashed his way to fifth overall in 6.95
HURDLES
- Senior Emmanuel Waller claimed the runner-up spot in the 60-meter hurdles in a blazing fast time of 8.30
DISTANCE
- Sophomore Kendall Phillips (14th/4:18.68), sophomore Nahim Abdallah (21st/4:22.88), and junior Kyle Weldon (23rd/4:25.29) all ran their best times ever in the one-mile run
- One PR was not enough for Weldon, who also set a new personal standard in the 3000-meter run at 8:41.56, coming home in fourth place
- Freshman Bryan Ly ran a PR in the 800-meter run of 1:57.99
JUMPS
- Davis and sophomore David Coles both made the podium in the long jump, finishing second and third, respectively. Davis's top jump was 7.01 meters (23'-0") while Coles leapt 6.88m (22'-7")
- Junior Trevor Thomas slotted into third place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.89m (6'-2.25")
- Coles also placed third in the triple jump with a best mark of 14.36m (47'-1.5")
THROWS
- Senior Coby Cockrell threw a new personal record in the shot put, throwing the implement an impressive 15.94m (52'-3.75")
- Senior Jaekob Vollbrecht was the top Ram in the weight throw, taking runner-up honors with a best mark of 17.92m (58'-9")
