The Short Story: Jude Okafor and Philip Daniel bring home program records and three Rams are victorious in their event as VCU traveled for a split meet at Virginia Tech and VMI.Â
SPRINTS/HURDLES
- Okafor broke the indoor 400m program record with a 47.88s time in the 400m run. Okafor has now broken the 300m and 400m program records during the 2026 indoor season
- Sophomore Marcus Acheampong was victorious in the 60m hurdles at 7.96s. He also finished fourth in the 200m sprint at 21.80s
- Freshman Presten Augustin finished right behind Acheampong with a 8.04s time
DISTANCE
- Redshirt sophomore Thomas Hess finished 2nd in the 800m run with a season-best 1:54.47
- Freshman Jonathan Hess was victorious in the mile run at 4:18.59
RELAYS
JUMPS
- Daniel set an indoor program record in the triple jump at 15.60m, good for a second place finish
- Junior Isaiah-Taji Kargbo-Owens finished 3rd in the triple jump with a 15.22m and second in the long jump at 7.20m, both personal-records
- Freshman Destiny Ese was victorious in the long jump with a personal-best 7.35m
- Junior Jaiden Oglesby competed in the high jump with a 1.96m jump
THROWS
- Senior Troy McWilliams continues his dominant season with a weight throw personal record of 19.95m
- Junior Devon Brooks set a personal-record with a 18.10m throw in the weight throw

The Rams travel to Lynchburg next weekend for the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Liberty. Events start on Friday, Feb. 13 and continue on Saturday, Feb. 14.Â
