The short story: Sophomore
Tanner Cadieux fired a final-round 67 to lead VCU this week at the Badger Invitational at TPC Wisconsin.
Â
FIRST TEE
- Cadieux (73-75) sat 4-over heading into the final round. But the North Carolina native carded eight birdies Tuesday afternoon on the way to his best collegiate round. The effort vaulted him 32 spots on the leaderboard to earn him a share of 14th place. Tuesday's performance also marked the second straight week Cadieux has shot sub-70 on the final day of a tournament
- VCU shot even par to claim sixth place in the field. Southern Miss (-23) coasted to the team title, followed by Southern Illinois and Illinois State (-13)
- Mac McGurn, playing as an individual, shot a blistering 66 in the second round – which took two days to complete following multiple lightning delays on Monday. McGurn's 66 is the lowest by a Ram this fall, and helped him to a 16th-place finish at even par (75-66-75)
- Senior Jake Conklin (72-73-71) also tied for 16th, while senior Braden O'Grady shot 73-71-73 on the way to 19thÂ
