Carson Looney capped an outstanding debut season with a runner-up finish Wednesday at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Orlando, Fla. Behind Looney, VCU placed third overall.

FIRST TEE
- Looney shot a 3-under 69 in Wednesday's final round to hold onto his second-place position throughout the day. Looney shot 67-71-69 across the 54-hole event to finish 9-under. Richmond's Lucas Rizo-Patron (-13) carded a final-round 66 to pull away for medalist honors
- VCU shot even par Wednesday, but it wasn't enough to slow down Richmond (-14), which shot 15-under Wednesday to surge to the team title. George Mason (-4) placed second. Rhode Island (+2) and George Washington (+3) rounded out the top five
- Senior Zach Felts (+4) fired a final-round 72 to claim a share of 20th for VCU, while sophomore Tanner Cadieux and senior Mason Minkel (+5) tied for 24th. Minkel carded a 1-under 71 Wednesday
- VCU has not finished worse than fourth at the A-10 Championship since joining the league prior to the 2012-13 season
