WASHINGTON, D.C. – Helping lead VCU women's soccer to its first victory of the season at Loyola Maryland, freshman
Isabelle Franklin was tabbed Atlantic 10 Rookie of the week, the organization announced Tuesday.
 Â
She was named co-Rookie of the Week alongside Richmond's Julia Lishia.
The Rams took down the greyhounds 2-0 on the road to secure the first win of Head Coach Lauryn Hutchinson's career, and Franklin's ball-in led to the game-winning goal.
Â
Franklin's assist on VCU's game winner marks her second in just five collegiate appearances, the other coming at No. 14 Virginia Tech a week prior. In the match at Loyola, the Fort Meade, Maryland, native logged 80 minutes on the pitch and helped the defensive effort to the Rams' first clean sheet of the year.
Â
The rookie is second on the team with her pair of assists, and her 292 minutes lead all freshmen.
Â
Franklin and VCU women's soccer return to action on Thursday, Sept. 4, against Navy at Sports Backers Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
