The Ram Athletic Fund (RAF) is proud to have BoostHER, an initiative which aims to advance VCU's women's athletics programs through student-athlete empowerment, fundraising, fan engagement and community service.
"The VCU BoostHER initiative is a great way to spotlight the accomplishments of the female student-athletes," said
Cindy Dulik, committee co-chairwoman. "These athletes are working hard balancing sport and school and often don't receive the same level of attention that their male counterparts do. We have the opportunity to assist in the overall development of these student-athletes through the BoostHER platform. It provides a community to help these young athletes achieve their goals, both on and off their field of play. I look forward to the great things that we can do to help move this initiative forward in a sustainable way."
"Our women's sports teams have had tremendous success and these student-athletes deserve to be supported, recognized, and celebrated," said committee co-chairwoman
Sharon Darby.
BoostHER's mission includes six pillars:
- Raise funds to support female sports programs and student-athletes
- Foster a community of support, empowerment and growth for VCU female student-athletes
- Provide additional resources to enhance VCU's women's sports programs, career programs and events
- Participate in professional and personal development of student-athletes
- Engage the community with VCU women's sports programs
- Provide opportunities to recognize the accomplishments of female student-athletes
BoostHER supports VCU Athletics' women's programs by assisting in the enhancement and development of fundraising events, attending home sporting events, developing relationships with current student-athletes by engaging with teams at games and other events and making annual donations to women's athletics programs.
