HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU was responsible the first shot on goal of the match as Keira Connolly induced a save in the ninth minute
- The Hokies got on the board first in the 12th minute as Natalie Miller
- Before the period was over, Virginia Tech added another pair of goals from freshman Anna Pachan in the 18th and 27th minutes, lacing two darts just past the Rams
- Scialdone scored her first career goal from inside the penalty box, served a ball-in from Franklin by Lins with about 15 minutes left in the opening period
- With about 45 minutes of rain delay at the half, the match resumed with high energy
- Pongratz limited VT in the second half, making four saves, but the Hokies managed two more goals in the 66th and 72nd minutes of the match
- The Rams fell for the first time in 2025 with a final score of 5-1.
