The short story: Graduate John Casper claimed his second victory of the weekend and was named Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer, while a pair of other Rams won gold Sunday to lead VCU to a third-place finish at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
 
THROWS

• One day after a record-breaking performance in the hammer, Casper claimed gold in the discus. His mark of 48.74 on his fourth attempt held up for the victory
• Sophomore Shinobu Hawk placed fifth for the Rams in the discus in 46.10 meters and seventh in the shot put in a personal-best 14.73 meters Sunday. Sophomore Diego Turner placed eighth in the shot

SPRINTS/HURDLES

• Sophomore Emmanuel Oche captured the second A-10 title of his career – and first outdoors – when he raced to a win in 10.38 seconds in the 100. He is the first VCU competitor to win the A-10 100-meter title since the Rams joined the league in 2012-13
• Freshman Christian Hallums blitzed to a personal-best of 21.24 seconds in the 200 to take second-place honors
• Freshman Marcus Acheampong added a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles to his outstanding debut season. The Dumfries, Va. native ran 14.12 on the way to silver and was only bested by a record-breaking 13.39 effort by Jayden Smith of Davidson
• Freshman Jayden Hines collected fourth in the 400 in 48.13 seconds
• VCU raced to a season-best in the 4x400-meter relay on the way to eighth 

JUMPS

• Sophomore Jaiden Oglesby leaped 2.04 meters to secure his first A-10 gold in the high jump following a pair of runner-up finishes
• Junior David Coles captured silver for the second straight day. He recorded a career-best  15.61-meter leap on his final attempt – raising his own school record in the event -- to take second in the triple jump. He also placed second in Saturday's long jump competition. Sophomore Isaiah-Taji Kargbo-Owens (15.26m) was just behind in third for the Rams
