The short story: Junior Braden O'Grady fired a blistering final-round 67 to record his third top-10 finish of the year and lead VCU this week at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate.
 
FIRST TEE

• O'Grady (74-71-67) carded four birdies and eagled No. 15, a 502-yard, Par 3 on the way to his second 67 of the season. He shot up 16 spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday alone to earn a share of ninth place. He shot 1-under overall on the 6,810-yard, Par 71 layout at Cape Fear Country Club
• Senior Caden Scarbrough (74-69-70) was just a stroke off O'Grady's pace, bolstered by a second-round 69. He tied for 11^th in the field
• VCU overcame a slow opening round to tie for seventh with Jacksonville at 15-over (301-283-283). Host UNCW (-15) cruised to the team title, followed by James Madison (+1), Stetson (+5), Florida Atlantic (+8) and Georgia State (+11)
• Senior Jan Rybczynski (+6) placed 29^th for the Black and Gold, followed by junior Jake Conklin (+10) in 49^th
