FIRST TEE
- VCU's quintet combined to shoot 267 at UNC's Par 70 Finley Golf Club, shattering the previous low mark of 270, set on a Par 72 layout at the Palisades Collegiate Classic in 2009. The Rams shot 13-under for Wednesday's round, the third-lowest, relative to par, in program history
- Overall, VCU finished 9-under (280-284-267) on the way to eighth, the highest regional finish by the Rams since 2002, when the Black and Gold placed fifth and advanced to the NCAA Championships
- Wood, the Atlantic 10 Conference Golfer and Rookie of the Year, fired seven birdies Wednesday on the way to a final-round 64. He joins Ted Brown (2002), Mark Jargren (2009) and Adrian Vagberg (2021) as Rams to card 64
- A-10 Medalist Ugo Malcor (69-69-70) capped a 21st-place finish with a final-round 70 to pace VCU. Junior Tim Chan shot 66 Wednesday and also tied for 21st at 2-under
- Wood, senior Mattias Varjun and freshman Veikka Viskari all tied for 34th for the Black and Gold at 2-over
- Clemson (-25), East Tennessee State (-24), North Carolina (-20), Georgia Tech (-17) and Baylor (-15) placed 1-5, respectively, to advance to the NCAA Championships
