Ugo Malcor carded a final-round 72 to lead VCU to a fifth-place finish at the Stitch Intercollegiate this weekend.

FIRST TEE
- VCU and the field battled challenging weather conditions at the event. Saturday's final round was suspended for more than two hours due to high winds
- Malcor shot 73-77-72 to place 18th to pace the Rams
- The Black and Gold (+36) combined to shoot 303-292-293 at the 54-hole event on the way to fifth. Host N.C. State defended its home course, recording a total of 870 (+18) on the way to a five-stroke win. UNCG (+23), Duke (+34) and Georgia Southern (+35) rounded out the top four
- VCU freshman Veikka Viskari fired a second-round 70 and tied for 30th (78-70-77). Senior Mattias Varjun and junior Tim Chan each tied for 33rd for the Rams
- Redshirt sophomore Dylan Allen placed 23rd as an individual for VCUÂ
