FIRST TEE
- Malcor shot a bogey-free first round on Monday on the way to a career-best 64 and a place atop the leaderboard. He closed with back-to-back 71s to earn a share of fourth place, his best finish of the 2023-24 season
- Behind Malcor's outstanding play, the Rams shot a combined 16-under for the 54-hole tournament to take third. Illinois, ranked 20th nationally, claimed the team crown at 25-under. No. 33 LSU (-22) was second. Davidson (-3) and Kansas State (-2) rounded out the top five
- Junior Tim Chan followed up last week's outstanding spring debut with a 68-69-72 effort. He finished 10th at 4-under
- Freshman Grayson Wood (1-under), senior Mattias Varjun (E), and freshman Veikka Viskari (2-over) rounded out the VCU lineup in 21st, 26th and 36th, respectively

- VCU has not finished worse than fourth in six tournaments in 2023-24
- Overall, the field included six top-100 teams
