The short story: Senior Caden Scarbrough was a picture of consistency on the way to a top-20 finish to pace VCU this week at the Redhawk Intercollegiate at the Pittsburg Field Club.
 
FIRST TEE

• Scarbrough, the Rams' top competitor in two straight events, shot 71-71-71 across three rounds to finish at even par in 19^th place
• VCU carded rounds of 292, 289 and 290 on the way to a 12^th-place finish. Marquette (-16) claimed the team title, while Georgia Southern (-15) and Richmond (-9) were second and third, respectively
• Junior Braden O'Grady fired a first-round 70 and finished 36^th at 7-over for the Black and Gold
• Junior Mac McGurn and senior Jan Rybczynski placed 42^nd and 51^st, respectively, to round out VCU's top four
