The Short Story: A host of men's sprinters and distance runners began their 2023 spring outdoor season just a few miles from campus at the Fred Hardy Invitational, led by freshman
Aubrey Bryant's third-place finish in the 100-meter dash.
SPRINTS
- Bryant fought hard for a podium finish and a time of 11.40 in the 100, running into a fierce headwind
- Senior Noah Hackerson made his 2023 debut in the 200m, finishing fourth overall in a time of 22.78
HURDLES
- Sophomore Paul Adelugba ran his first meet as a Ram, placing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles
DISTANCE
- Sophomore Jaden Luczak won his heat of the 1500m in a time of 4:04.66, placing 19th overall in a deep and competitive field
- Sophomore Nahim Abdallah ran under 15 minutes for the first time in the 5000m, and his PR time of 14:58.41 was good for fifth place
UP NEXT
VCU's opening weekend of the outdoor season continues on Saturday, March 18, with the second day of competition at the UCF Black & Gold Invitational in Orlando, Fla. The first event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
