The Short Story: Senior
Noah Peterson had a dual PR weekend, setting new personal bests in the one-mile run (4:24.21) and 3000-meter run (8:48.27). Seven other Rams set personal best marks to conclude the indoor regular season for the Black and Gold.
SPRINTS
- Senior Gordon Smith qualified for the final of the 60-meter dash, tying his personal record of 6.82 seconds
- Senior Lamar Davis and freshman Aubrey Bryant both set new personal standards in the 60m, running times of 6.93 and 6.98, respectively
DISTANCE
- Sophomore Kendall Phillips joined Peterson in setting a personal record in the 3000-meter run, crossing the line in 8:52.78
- Sophomore Jaden Luczak lowered his time in the 1000-meter run by three seconds, clocking in at 2:30.58
- Junior Kyle Weldon ran his best indoor 5000-meter run ever, completing the 25-lap race in 15:28.45
JUMPS
- Davis cracked the top five in the long jump, placing fifth overall with a best jump of 7.02 meters (23'-0.5")
- Sophomore David Coles reached the final of the triple jump, finishing sixth overall. His went an impressive 14.62m (47'-11.75") on his best jump of the day
THROWS
- Senior Coby Cockrell set a PR in the weight throw, sending his implement 18.07m (59'-3.5")
- Senior Jaekob Vollbrecht placed seventh overall in both the weight throw (18.21m/59'-9") and the shot put (16.36m/53'-8.25")

VCU track & field will vie for a championship in two weeks at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25-26 at Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, R.I. The first event begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
