RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball has announced that
Janika Griffith-Wallace,
Samantha Robinson and Grace Huston have been named team captains. The captains were voted and selected by the team.

Griffith-Wallace is a redshirt senior who has played in 51 games at VCU with 29 starts over her first two seasons. She ranked third on the team in scoring last year at 8.7 points per game and ranked 164
th nationally in steals per game at 1.82. Wallace, who originally transferred to VCU from Murray State, has played 111 games in her career with 69 starts. Griffith-Wallace scored eight points and recorded four rebounds and three assists against Lafayette.

Robinson is a redshirt senior who has played in 64 career games with 17 starts. Robinson, who transferred to VCU from Central Michigan, has played 54 of those games at VCU over the past two seasons with all 17 starts coming for the Black & Gold. Robinson scored a career-high 11 points last season against Boston College and averaged 2.2 points and 3.1 rebounds on the season. Robinson had four points and three rebounds in the season opener.

Hutson, a redshirt sophomore, appeared in all 28 games last season for the Rams with one start. She averaged 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds. She scored a career-high 10 points against East Carolina last season and opened this season with six points and a career-high six assists against Lafayette.

VCU faces William & Mary at home for its second game of the season on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
