The short story: Freshmen Joe Retford and Mikkel Antonsen scored top-10 finishes to pace VCU at the 2021 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship this weekend.
 
FIRST TEE

• Led by Retford and Antonsen, VCU combined to shoot 6-over for the weekend on the way to a third-place effort. Davidson (-5) held on for the team title. Dayton (+4) finished second
• Retford 76-67-72 shot 1-under for the tournament on the way to a third-place finish. He was five strokes off the pace of Dayton's Henry May (-6) and four behind Davidson's Alex Ross (-5)
• Antonsen (80-66-73) earned a share of ninth place
• Retford and Antonsen were both big movers during Saturday's second round. Retford shot 67, while Antonsen fired a 6-under 66, the lowest round by a Ram this spring
• Seniors Peter Gasperini (+5) and Kristian Tannum Donaldson (+6) placed 17^th and 18^th, respectively, for VCU
