The Short Story: Jenn Nonn scored the first goal of the day for VCU just 29 seconds into the game and VCU built a 7-0 lead with 12:17 remaining in the first half and prevented Central Michigan from getting any closer than five goals the entire contest.

  • Molly Barcikowski scored a game-high five goals and added three assists for a team-high eight points.
  • Keriann McTavish scored three goals with a game-high four assists to finish with seven points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After Nonn scored the opening goal, the Rams reeled off six straight to make it 7-0. 
  • The stretch included four goals in the first 8:01 of the contest.
  • The Chippewas scored their first goal with 8:15 left in the first half and added a second just under a minute later. VCU took an 8-3 lead into halftime.
  • The Rams opened the second half with a goal from Hyatt and scored three consecutive to build their lead to 11-3 before Central Michigan scored with 19:30 left.
  • Del Rossi scored with 16:15 left as VCU scored four consecutive goals to hold its largest lead at 15-4 with 10:25 remaining.
  • The Chippewas scored the games final five goals in the last 5:27 for the final margin.
