HYATT POWERS RAMS TO ROAD WIN AT CAMPBELL

The Short Story: The Rams jumped out to a 9-1 lead on Campbell in the first half with 3:21 remaining until the break. Campbell charged back outscoring VCU 8-1 and closed the deficit to just 10-9 with 10:21 left in regulation. VCU got three goals in just under two minutes to push its lead to 13-9 and held off the Camels the rest of the way.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • VCU jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 13:40 left in the first half before Campbell got on the board. Del Rossi powered VCU's start scoring three goals.
  • The Rams' lead was as large as 9-1 after Barcikowski scored unassisted.
  • Campbell scored three consecutive goals to cut VCU's lead to 9-4 at halftime.
  • The Camels continued their run into the second half as they outscored VCU 8-1 across halftime to get within 10-9 with 10:21 remaining.
  • The two teams stayed at the one goal margin for just over four minutes until Jenn Nonn's free position goal put VCU up 11-9. The two goal marging was as close as the Camels would get for the remainder of the contest.
  • The Rams added two more goals in quick succession and held a 13-9 lead with with 4:16 left.
  • The two teams traded goals for the final score with VCU scoring its last goal with 14 seconds remaining.
