with three RBI and a run to pace the Spiders.
Adam McConnell led off the game with a single to

McConnell trying to steal third before Barber lined an RBI-double
into right and the Spiders took an early 1-0 lead.

the first pitch he saw deep into center field and was aboard with a
leadoff triple in the bottom of the frame. He came home on a
wild pitch and evened the score at 1-1.
Richmond then took a 2-1 advantage in the top of
the third after Mike Mergenthaler sent a one-out double into left
and came home on an RBI single by Barber.
The Spiders added two more runs in the fifth as
Mergenthaler, who reached for the third time with a leadoff single,
came around to score after Van Meter's throw to first on a Barber
groundout sailed past Michael Cheatham.
Cameron Brown then lifted a sacrifice fly into center and Richmond
went ahead 4-1.
