RICHMOND, VA. – A pair of VCU Baseball stars begin their professional journeys as right-handed pitcher

Michael Petite heard their names called on Day 2 of the 2026 MLB Draft.
Â
Peters, a four-year Ram, was selected in the 10
th round with the 295

Â
Settling into a closing role for his final season in black & gold, Peters posted an astounding 1.68 ERA, the fourth-lowest single-season mark in program history, while going 8-1 with seven saves. He struck out 88 over 53.2 innings of work, earning the save in VCU's NCAA Tournament victory over No. 23 Tennessee—his last appearance as a Ram.
Â
Peters' 10

Â
Petite, who joined VCU's ranks this season and played every game in the Rams' outfield, was selected in the 19
th round with the 580

Â
An impact bat in the Rams' lineup, as well as a dynamic athlete, Petite's 66 runs and 22 stolen bases led the Rams' squad, on top of his three triples and 45 walks. He is the third Ram to be selected by the Mariners organization since 2022.
