RICHMOND, VA. – VCU baseball catcher
Jacob Lee added once again to the impressive resume he has built over his two seasons in Black & Gold, earning an ABCA/Rawlings Atlantic All-Region First Team nod, the organization announced Tuesday.
Â
ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region Teams were announced across eight regions. The teams are selected by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and First Team All-Region selections are eligible for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.
Â
Lee is one of 13 Atlantic All-Region First Team selections, and the Rams' first since Tyler Locklear in 2022.
Â
En route to VCU's Atlantic 10 Championship and NCAA Regional appearance this season, Lee earned Most Outstanding Player in the A-10 Championship and was named to the A-10 All-Championship team.
Â
The 2025 first-team Freshman All-American and Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year didn't slow down in his sophomore campaign, slashing .336/.465/.621 and leading the Rams in each category. He also paced the team with 79 hits, 17 home runs, 146 total bases and fielded at a .994 clip with nine runners caught stealing.
Â
Continuing to rewrite the VCU record book in his sophomore campaign, Lee became the fastest player to 20 home runs (66 games), 30 home runs (101 games) and the first player in program history to have multiple 17-home runs seasons. With his second 17-homer season, the backstop tied himself for third in single-season history and pulled into third all-time with 34, behind only Locklear and Jason Dubois' 37.
Â
The Chesterfield native had 22 multi-hit games, including a career five-hit, four-run, four-RBI performance in the Rams' series-clinching victory over A-10 Regular Season Champion Saint Joseph's.
Â
Lee concluded the season by stretching his 25-game reached base streak through the A-10 Championship and NCAA Tournament.
