LGBTQ Partnerships & CollaborationsÂ
The VCU Department of Athletics and the VCU Division of Student Affair work together throughout the year to provide LGBTQ+ resources and support to student-athletes, coaches, and staff to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion. Annually, several VCU Athletics programs host Pride games where student-athletes, coaches, and staff proudly don VCU Pride T-Shirts.Â
Representatives from the VCU Division of Student Affairs are available during these games, passing out LGBTQ+ resources to fans. In addition to collaborating at Pride Games, VCU Athletics and the VCU Division of Student Affairs also partner to provide LGBTQ+ programming for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. During LGBTQ+ History Month, for example, a staff member from the Division of Student Affairs facilitated a workshop on gender pronouns, gender expression, and gender fluidity for VCU Athletics student-athletes, coaches, and staff.Â
Â
VCU Athletics also encourages student-athletes, coaches, and staff to take part in the Safe Zone training offered by the Division of Student Affairs throughout the academic year. For more information, or to enroll in the VCU Safe Zone Program,
