DEI Mission
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the DEI Committee is to create a welcoming, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for every employee and student-athlete within VCU Athletics. This page serves to highlight the actions the DEI Committee is taking to foster a culture of inclusivity within VCU Athletics as well as DEI-related resources and programs.

To accomplish the mission, the committee will: 

  • Actively seek to understand the complex and rich identities of others by embracing difficult topics related to diversity and inclusion 
  • Facilitate education, programming and advocacy of a variety of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice topics and issues 
  • Engage the department’s leadership on important issues aimed at expanding diversity, ensuring equity in experiences and opportunities (for both student-athletes and employees) and creating an inclusive environment for all
