RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Field Hockey has announced its 2026 schedule featuring eight games at Cary Street Field and matchups against five 2025 NCAA Tournament teams.
VCU, the 2025 A-10 Regular Season Co-Champions, plays its first seven games away from home as part of a slate that features a road game at defending national champion Northwestern to open the season on Aug. 28.
The Rams also face stiff road tests against ACC teams Duke and Wake Forest who reached the NCAA Tournament. VCU is set to host Fairfield and A-10 foe Saint Joseph's to round out the five NCAA Tournament teams on the schedule.
After opening the season at Northwestern (Aug. 28), the Rams will remain in Evanston, Ill. To face Kent State (Aug. 30) in a neutral site game. The Rams travel to William & Mary (Sept. 6) before facing 2025 NCAA participants Wake Forest (Sept. 11) and Duke (Sept. 13) on the road.
The Rams open Atlantic 10 play at La Salle (Sept. 18) at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pa. and then play at Lafayette (Sept. 20).
VCU returns to Richmond to play six consecutive home games beginning its home schedule against A-10 foe Saint Louis (Sept. 25) and Georgetown (Sept. 27). The Rams host ACC opponent Cal (Oct. 2) and Towson (Oct. 4) before returning to A-10 play against Lock Haven (Oct. 9).
2025 NCAA participant Fairfield (Oct. 11) visits Richmond to conclude the homestand before the Rams head to face Davidson (Oct. 16). VCU hosts Delaware (Oct. 18) to conclude non-conference play.
The Rams close the season hosting Saint Joseph's (Oct. 23) and traveling to Richmond (Oct. 30).
VCU went 13-5 overall and posted a 5-1 record in Atlantic 10 play in 2025. VCU returns A-10 Rookie of the Year and All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection
