HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair with neither team recording a shot
- The Wildcats scored first in the 17th minute as Kokinis got a pass and scored from close range
- Northwestern doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute  off a penalty corner
- VCU had two shot attempts in the 27th minute off a corner, one saved and one blocked and trailed 2-0 at the half
- The Rams were unable to convert in the second half as Ventimiglia had another shot on goal in the 4th quarter saved in the 51st minute
