RICHMOND, VA. – Three Rams were named in D1Baseball's power rankings, which recognize the top collegiate baseball players at each position throughout the season. Through six weeks of play, the organization tabbed
Jacob Lee the No. 28 catcher,
Patrick Steitz the No. 74 starting pitcher and
Michael Petite the No. 92 outfielder.

Steitz made a significant leap from his No. 200 preseason ranking, rising 126 spots after solidifying his role as Rams' Saturday starter. Entering week seven, Steitz had an impressive 2.00 ERA and 3-0 record through his first six appearances as a Ram, and has continued to shut down offenses on the mound.

Across his first three Atlantic 10 starts as a Ram, the 6-8 right-hander has allowed just one run and fanned 21 batters in 20 innings of work. His 1.71 season ERA is paired with a team-best 0.79 WHIP, which ranks 11
th in the country.

Lee, who capped his historic freshman season with a 2025 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honor, was listed at No. 7 entering the season and remained in D1Baseball's top 30 through week six.

Going 8-14 at the plate over the last week, including a home run and a triple, the backstop lifted his season batting average to an impressive .343. The sophomore matched his season-best four hits two weekends in a row, tying for the lead among rams with 15 hits in-conference at a .536 clip.

Petite, who has started every game at center field for VCU jumped into D1Baseball's outfield power rankings after catching stride at the plate in the Rams' first few weeks of conference play. The junior college transfer got off to a hot start to the season, blasting three home runs in his first seven games as a Ram, and he wrapped the sixth week of play with eight hits over VCU's four contests.

Topping the Rams' charts with seven home runs, 31 runs scored and 30 free passes drawn, Petite's 12 HBP also lead the Atlantic 10 and rank No. 27 in the nation.
