WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Nate Kirkpatrick was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after VCU baseball's second-straight winning weekend, the league announced on Monday.
La Salle's Titus Shay was named Pitcher of the Week and Richmond's Evan Wilson earned Rookie of the Week honors from the conference.
Kirkpatrick is the VCU's first offensive A-10 Player of the Week since
Brandon Eike in 2024, joining
Patrick Steitz and
Zach Peters as the three Rams to earn weekly awards this season. It's the second consecutive week a Ram has been named for a conference award.
The Surrey, British Columbia, native tallied at least one hit, run, and RBI in every game this week, leading VCU on the week with nine hits and a .905 slugging percentage. He helped the Rams reach their highest hit total in a game this season (20) on Sunday with four of his own, and lifted the team to its most runs against an A-10 opponent since 2023 on Friday (17).
Kirkpatrick blasted the go-ahead home run in the 10th inning on Saturday, clinching the weekend series, before going on to tie his career-best four hits on Sunday.
In the hot corner, Kirkpatrick fielded at a perfect 1.000 clip, handling all 11 defensive chances.
VCU posted a 2-2 record on the road during the week, winning its second-straight Atlantic 10 series, 2-1, at Dayton to improve to 5-1 in the A-10.

VCU returns to action at The Diamond against Norfolk State at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24. The Rams will face VCU baseball alum and former VCU baseball assistant coach in Norfolk State's first-year head coach ML Morgan.
