HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charlotte jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter
- VCU outscored Charlotte 4-1 to start the second quarter and get within 7-5 with 2:33 left before halftime after a goal from Koeneke. Charlotte responded by scoring three unanswered to take a 10-5 lead at the half
- The Rams trailed 11-5 with 13:59 left in the third quarter before scoring five of the next six goals and tying the game at 12-12 after a Kozak goal with 11:08 left in the fourth quarter
- VCU and Charlotte traded goals for the remainder of the game and with the score tied 15-15, the 49ers won the draw control with 1:45 remaining and scored the game-winner with seven seconds left
