VCU ATHLETICS, MINDFLOW PARTNER TO EXPAND MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Athletics has entered into an exciting partnership with Mindflow, a leading company that offers virtual mental health and performance services to athletes.

This partnership allows VCU Athletics to expand its steadfast commitment to the mental health and performance of all its student-athletes. The partnership expands access and resources alongside the work of Dr. Bridget Smith, VCU Athletics' Counselor, and Dr. Jihad N. Aziz, Ph.D., the Executive Director of University Counseling Services at VCU and Director for Athletics Psychological Services.

"We are very excited to partner with MindFlow to provide our student-athletes with expanded mental wellness resources. This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to supporting their overall well-being. We look forward to working with the MindFlow team as we continue to prioritize the holistic development of our student-athletes," said Dr. Sofia Hoirt-Wright, VCU's Deputy Director of Athletics and SWA.

Mindflow allows VCU student-athletes to access over 50 providers featuring more than 20 different specializations. These specializations include performance anxiety, stress management, mindfulness, injury recovery, depression, eating disorders, trauma and more. Roughly 70 percent of Mindflow's mental health professionals are former collegiate athletes.

Mindflow's diverse team of licensed clinical psychologists and sport psychology professionals are singularly focused on the mental health of athletes with every single provider having a background or experience in athletics.
