RICHMOND, Va. – VCU student-athletes recorded a record-breaking four-year average (2015-18) graduation success rating score of 95 as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Â
VCU student-athletes have a four-year average (2015-18) of 95 in the recently released Graduation Success Rate (GSR). This is the fourth time, and fourth consecutive year, that VCU has reached 90 in the overall four-year GSR score. The overall four-year GSR score of 95 percent is a school record, breaking the previous record set last year.
Â
This marks the fifth consecutive year a new school record was achieved. Additionally, the single-year rate of student-athletes that began enrollment at VCU in 2018-19 is a 98, also a school record.
Â
Eight VCU sports posted a perfect GSR score of 100 including men's basketball, men's golf, men's soccer, men's Tennis, field hockey, women's lacrosse, women's soccer and women's tennis. Four additional sports scored an 85 or higher including baseball, men's track & field, women's basketball and women's track & field.
Â
The NCAA's GSR measures student-athlete graduation rates over a six-year period from the first year of enrollment. The GSR accounts for students who transfer into an institution and does not penalize institutions that have student-athletes who choose to transfer out while still in good academic standing.
