VCU Athletics Announces Partnership with Central Virginia Waste Management Authority

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Athletics is proud to announce a new community-focused partnership with the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA), reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainability education and responsible waste management throughout the region.

As a regional leader in recycling and waste-reduction programs, CVWMA provides essential services and outreach that support cleaner, more sustainable communities across Central Virginia. Through this partnership, VCU Athletics and CVWMA will collaborate to promote proper waste-disposal habits, and engage fans, students, and the wider community in recycling initiatives.

"We're excited to partner with CVWMA to highlight their efforts and impact across Central Virginia," said Erik Lowery, General Manager of VCU Sports Properties. "This partnership unites our organizations around the shared goal of making a positive environmental impact. Together, we will help educate fans and enhance sustainability efforts throughout the region."

Throughout the season, CVWMA and VCU Athletics will introduce joint initiatives focused on recycling awareness and community education programs aimed at promoting long-term environmental responsibility. Rams fans can expect to see CVWMA as the game sponsor for VCU Men's Basketball's upcoming match-up against Niagara on Monday, Dec. 15, as well as integrated into women's basketball Education Day and across VCU Athletics' social platforms.

"CVWMA is proud to join with VCU Athletics to bring recycling education to a broader audience in a fun, engaging way," said Kim Hynes, Executive Director of the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority.
