RICHMOND, Va. – VCU men's tennis earned a 10th consecutive ITA All-Academic Team distinction as five student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. First year Head Coach
Dimi Kutrovsky led the Rams to success on and off the court, including an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Kostiantyn Mantach,
Nicolo Consonni,
German Samofalov,
Erwann Bouchet and
Alfred Almasi were all named Scholar-Athletes after earning grade point averages of at least 3.5 over the current academic year.
The ITA honor is just the latest for Almasi, who garnered First Team All-Atlantic 10 and Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team selections in May. Samofalov joined him on the First Team, while Bouchet and Consonni paired the Scholar-Athlete awards with Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selections on the court.
In order to be named an All-Academic Team, the Rams upheld a team GPA of 3.2 or above. VCU has been an ITA All-Academic Team each season since 2016.
