RICHMOND, Va. - VCU Women's Tennis has three players named to the Atlantic 10 preseason all-conference teams and the team was picked to finish third in the preseason poll, the conference announced Wednesday.  

Senior Yelizaveta Karlova and Sophomores Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando and Mariam Ibrahim were all named to the preseason all-conference team. 

The Rams garnered three first-place votes and 141 total points to stand in third place in the preseason poll. Massachusetts, who received 6 first-place votes and 160 points, was first. Richmond garnered 3 first-place votes as well and finished with 153 points,

Karlova has been part of VCU's core for her entire collegiate career. This is Karlova's third straight time being named to the Atlantic 10 preseason all-conference team. Karlova has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference First Team in each of her three seasons at VCU. Last season she recorded an 11-9 singles record and an 11-8 doubles record in dual match play. 

Sabando was named to the Atlantic 10 preseason all-conference team last year. She ended last season being named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Second Team with finished with a 9-9 singles record and won 7 doubles matches last year. 

This is Ibrahim's first time being named to the Atlantic 1o preseason all-conference team. Last season she compiled a 3-4 singles record and a 7-3 doubles record. Over the spring, Ibrahim recorded a 4-4 record in both singles and doubles.

The Rams are back in action when they take on East Tennessee State on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
