Andrea Magallanes and freshman
Viktoria Lackova earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 Conference on Tuesday, as Magallanes was named Player of the Week and Lackova collected Rookie of the Week recognition following their performances against George Mason and Old Dominion.
Â
Magallanes went a perfect 3-0 over the weekend, opening with a 6-1 doubles victory on Court 2 alongside
Sofia Jane Thorne. She carried that momentum into singles, earning a straight-sets win over George Mason's Noelle Talarek, 6-2, 6-2. Magallanes continued her strong form the following day, teaming up with Thorne to clinch the doubles point for the Rams with a dramatic 7-6 (7-3) victory over Old Dominion's Uladzislava Manzhos and Marina Markina on Court 2. Magallanes currently holds a 9-5 record in doubles and 8-4 in singles, as she continues a strong sophomore campaign.
Â
Against George Mason, Lackova earned a 6-3, 6-3 singles win over Mary Young and added a 6-1 doubles victory alongside
Sara Alba against Noemie Ramanantoani and Noelle Talarek. The following day, she teamed up with Alba again to defeat Old Dominion's Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova, 6-2. Lackova later fell to Uladzislava Manzhos in singles but still put together another strong weekend performance, earning her third Rookie of the Week honor this spring, the most by a Ram since Alessia Ciuca earned four in 2021.
