Meet: Darius Dixon Invitational
Location: Lynchburg, Va. (Liberty Indoor Track Complex)
The short story: The Rams competed well across all events as they competed in their final tune-up before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championship in two weekends.
SPRINTS:
- Emmanuel Oche qualified for the 60-meter dash finals, as he finished in 6.84 seconds in the semifinals for his best time of the weekend. Oche unfortunately false started in the finals
HURDLES:
- Marcus Acheampong qualified for the 60-meter hurdles finals, where he earned sixth. His top time of the weekend in the event was 8.17 seconds
DISTANCE:
- Thomas Hess recorded a personal best in the 800-meter race, clocking a 1:55.82 to finish as the top Ram in the event. Fellow Ram Davin Tietz also set a personal best in the 800 with a time of 1:58.60
THROWS:
- Senior John Casper earned third in the weight throw, with a top distance of 19.27 meters
- In the shot put, Diego Turner earned 11th with a mark of 15.53 meters
DISTANCE:
- Julian Lawson set a new personal best time in the mile race to finish as the top Ram in the open mile finals
JUMPS:
- Sophomore Jaiden Oglesby finished fifth in the high jump finals with a top height of 2.00 meters

Next up
The Rams next travel to Virginia Beach, Va. to compete in the Atlantic 10 conference championship where they look to defend their title. The event will be held Friday to Saturday, Feb. 28-March 1.
