RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Field Hockey earned two weekly Atlantic 10 honors as
Emma Clements was named the Defensive Player of the Week and
Angelina Gandos was named the Rookie of the Week.

The duo led VCU to a pair of wins including a 1-0 road win at No. 20 Saint Joseph's and a 1-0 double overtime win at American. The Rams improved to 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play on the season and have won three straight games overall.

Clements, a redshirt sophomore goalkeeper, earned her second weekly award this season after posting 11 saves and recording two shutouts. Clements made five saves in the win at Saint Joseph's before making six saves at American. Clements has now posted six shutouts on the season.

Gandos, a freshman defender, earned her first A-10 honor after scoring the game-winning goal at No. 20 Saint Joseph's, the first of her collegiate career. Gandos also helped anchor VCU's defense in recording both shutouts on the weekend.

VCU travels to Lock Haven for an A-10 matchup on Friday, Oct. 17.
