The Short Story:Â VCU and Davidson battled back-and-forth before the Rams Ana Afonso scored the go-ahead goal in the 57
th minute to give the Rams the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Macera scored the opening goal in the 8th minute as she converted a penalty stroke to put VCU up 1-0
- Davidson tied the game 1-1 early in the second quarter in the 17th minute as Van der Kooi was able to tap in a ball that was deflected and ricocheted off a defender in front of the goal
- The two teams remained deadlocked until the 57th minute when VCU capitalized off a penalty corner. Macera dribbled to the left and fired a pass to the back post where Afonso tapped it in for the game-winning goal
