ROBYN PARKS NAMED TO WNBA'S CHICAGO SKY ROSTER

RICHMOND, Va. – Former VCU Women's Basketball standout Robyn Parks has officially been named to the WNBA's Chicago Sky roster.

Parks, a 2014 graduate of VCU, originally signed a training camp contract in February and earned a roster spot after impressive performances in the Sky's preseason camp. Parks most recently scored 12 points in the Sky's final preseason game against the Minnesota Lynx on May 13, going 4-of-6 from 3-point range.

Parks went undrafted after graduating from VCU but has had an extremely successful overseas career. Parks most recently played in Italy for club Magnolia La Molisana Campobasso, leading the team with 19.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. Parks has also played in Spain for Gran Canaria (2014-15), Campus Promete Logrono (2016-17), Snatt's Femeni Sant Adria (2018-19) and Casademont Zaragoza (2020-21).

Parks also spent time playing in Angola with GD Inter-Clube de Luanda (2017-18, 2019-20) and part of a season in Mexico with Libertadores de Queretaro where she was named to the All-Mexican LNBPF First Team in 2022.

The Waldorf, Maryland native played four seasons at VCU from 2010-14. Parks scored 1,571 points in 125 career games as a Ram and ranks seventh all-time in scoring. Parks averaged 21.6 points per game as a senior and was named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team and All-Defensive Team. She also earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors as a junior.

Parks is the third Ram to be named to a WNBA regular season roster, joining Quanitra Hollingsworth and Krystal Vaughn. Courtney Hurt was drafted by the Indiana Fever in the third round of the 2012 WNBA Draft while D'Andra Moss was signed to a training camp contract with the Sky in 2013.

The Chicago Sky open the season against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. EST.
