MEN'S TENNIS RANKED NO. 1 IN PRESEASON POLL, FIVE RAMS NAMED PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Tennis has five players named in the Atlantic 10 preseason all-conference award list and the team was picked to finish first as they were voted no. one in the preseason poll, the conference announced today.

Graduate Charles Bertimon and Rayane Stable, senior Max Bertimon, junior Matisse Bobichon, and sophomore Joaquim Almeida were all named to the all-conference team.

Led by fifth-year head coach Anthony Rossi, the reigning A-10 coach of the year, the Rams received all ten first-place votes as the team looks to win its sixth straight conference championship.

Last year, Charles and Max Bertimon were the first duo in school history to reach the NCAA doubles semi-finals as they earned ITA All-American status in the process.

Almeida was named the A-10's most outstanding rookie last season as he logged a 11-6 singles record and a 13-13 doubles record and finished the season winning eight consecutive singles matches.

Bobichon, who transferred from Oklahoma State the year before, was named to the A-10 first team as he logged an overall 29-7 singles record and 17-14 doubles record and held a team-best 15-match win streak in singles.

VCU returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. when they take on Clemson in Lynchburg, Va.
