HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams got out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to back-to-back goals by McDonnell just 30 seconds apart starting at the 13:45 minute mark
- Juliana George and O'Malley doubled VCU's lead just over two minutes later to put the Rams up 4-0 less than five minutes into the contest
- O'Malley opened the scoring in the second period at 11:18 with an unassisted goal to put the Rams up 9-0
- The Highlanders didn't score their first goal until there was 8:02 remaining in the second quarter on a goal from Margaret GleasonÂ
- VCU led by as many as 10Â goals in the first half and took a 12-2 lead into halftime
- Radford's Linley Terrell scored with five seconds remaining in the third quarter which began a five-goal run for the Highlanders bringing the score to 16-9 with 7:17 remaining
- VCU's defense put an end to the rally as Radford was held scoreless for the remainder of the contest
