VCU TRACK & FIELD RELEASES 2024 INDOOR SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va.- The VCU Men's and Women's Track & Field programs have released their slate of meets for the 2024 indoor track season, highlighted by the season-opening VCU Indoor Invitational on Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

The VCU Women's Track & Field team is coming off back-to-back Atlantic 10 Championships and is seeking a three-peat. The men's program is looking to build on a top-four finish from last season that included seven medals.

The Rams are set to spend a majority of their indoor schedule in the state of Virginia, including two trips to Liberty's Indoor Track Complex for the Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 18-20) and the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational (Feb. 9). VCU also has two stops at Virginia Tech, at the Virginia Tech Invitational (Jan. 12-13) and the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet (Feb. 2-3). The Black and Gold will also make a stop in Fairfax, Va. as they head to George Mason for the Patriot Games (Jan. 26-27).

VCU will travel to the Boston area for two separate meets, the first being the Scarlet & White Invitational (Feb. 2-3). The second trip to Boston comes in early March for the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 8-9).

This year's Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships will take place on Feb. 24 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

The women's team returns junior Gudrun Hallgrímsdóttir, who won the weight throw at last year's A-10 Indoor Championships with a school-record throw of 20.03 meters, as well as an Icelandic national record for the event.
