WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2022-23 NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball announced its 2022-23 non-conference schedule Thursday afternoon.

The Rams' schedule is highlighted by the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands Nov. 24-26 and opponents from the SEC, Big Ten and Big East. Overall, VCU will face at least seven teams that reached the 2022 postseason including four NCAA Tournament participants and three that earned WNIT bids. VCU is also set to play longstanding in-state rivals JMU, Old Dominion and William & Mary.

VCU begins its season on Nov. 7 against Lafayette for its annual Education Day Game with an 11 a.m. tip. The Rams then host the Tribe on Nov. 11 before traveling to face Delaware on Nov. 15 and Charlotte on Nov. 20. Delaware and Charlotte both earned NCAA bids a season ago with the Blue Hens as the defending CAA Champions and the 49ers the defending C-USA Champions.

The Rams will then head to the U.S. Virgin Islands to participate in the prestigious Paradise Jam where VCU faces Seton Hall on Nov. 24, Georgia on Nov. 25 and Wisconsin on Nov. 26.  VCU and Seton Hall met in the second round of the WNIT last season while Georgia earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round. VCU has never faced Wisconsin.

VCU returns home to face JMU on Dec. 1 before a road trip to East Carolina on Dec. 4 and a visit to ODU on Nov. 8. ODU reached the second round of the WNIT last season. The Rams host Gardner-Webb on Dec. 12.

The Rams will travel to New Orleans, La. for the Tulane Holiday Invitational on Dec. 20-21 to face Tennessee Tech and the winner of Tulane and St. Francis (PA). Tennessee Tech reached the WNIT Second Round last season as did Tulane.

The Rams conclude their non-conference schedule against Howard on Dec. 28. The Bison won the 2022 MEAC Championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

VCU returns 10 student-athletes from last season's team that went 16-12 overall and 9-5 in the Atlantic 10. VCU reached the A-10 Championship Semifinals and the second round of the WNIT.
