MENS TENNIS RECEIVES TOP 30 RANKING IN FINAL ITA POLL

Richmond, Va. - VCU Men's tennis have received a final ranking of no. 29 in the Division I Men's Team Poll the ITA announced Wednesday.

This ranking, which is a two-position improvement for the Rams, comes after both a fifth consecutive Atlantic 10 Conference championship and a first round victory at the NCAA Team Regional. This marks the first time VCU has ended the season in the ITA Top 30 since 2013 and is their best finish since 2007.

The Rams defeated three opponents, St. Bonaventure, Davidson, and Dayton, in three days to claim the conference crown for the sixth time since joining the A-10. The Rams did not drop a single set the entirety of the tournament defeating each opponent 4-0 en route to raising the 2022 title.

VCU also found success at the NCAA Regional defeating No. 36 ranked Penn 4-3 in a back and forth match that came down to the final point. With this victory the Rams added to their impressive resume defeating eight nationally ranked opponents over the course of the 2021-22 season, including five ranked inside the top 50.
