The short story: Senior Kristian Tannum Donaldson and sophomore Mikkel Antonsen each logged a top-10 finish to lead the Rams to a runner-up showing Monday at the Seahawk Intercollegiate.
 
FIRST TEE

• Tannum Donaldson fired a final-round 70 Tuesday on the way to a seventh-place effort. He shot 1-under (70-75-70=215) for the 54-hole event
• Antonsen also earned a share of seventh, following a first-round 70 on Sunday with rounds of 72 and 73 in the second and third, respectively
• VCU threatened eventual champion and host UNCW for most of Monday. The Rams shot 288-289-289 and finished 2-over. The Seahawks (-11) pulled away late to secure the team win. Kansas (+2), Francis Marion (+7) and James Madison (+9) rounded out the top five
• Sophomore Joe Retford (76-70-73=219) placed 19^th for VCU, while seniors Sachin Kumar and Adrian Vagberg were 28^th and 39^th, respectively
• Freshman Charlie Kennedy placed 23^rd for the Rams as an individual
