The short story: Senior Kristian Tannum Donaldson carded a final round 70 to charge up the leaderboard on the way to a top-20 finish this week at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in New Mexico.
 
FIRST TEE

• Tannum Donaldson shot 73-75-70 in the tournament on the way to a tie for 19^th overall. He carded six birdies during Saturday's final round and vaulted 18 spots on the leaderboard
• A fifth-year senior, Tannum Donaldson began his day on hole 17. He quickly fired birdies on No. 1 and No. 2 and cruised through the front nine in 33 strokes
• VCU (+53) placed 18^th in a loaded field. BYU (-23) pulled away for the team victory, followed by host New Mexico (-4), Louisville (+2), San Diego (+3) and New Mexico State (+6)
• Sophomore Joe Retford (+15) tied for 80^th for the Rams, followed by freshman Charlie Kennedy (+17) in 85th
