HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gardner-Webb got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 5-2 lead just over 10 minutes into the game
- The visitors' lead grew to as many as five, 11-6, with 2:52 left in the first half
- Osmeyer and sophomore midfielder Savannah Slack notched back-to-back goals just before halftime to pull the Rams within three
- Del Rossi and Koniencki found the back of the net to begin the second half, making it a one-goal game
- The Runnin' Bulldogs responded with two goals, but VCU hit back with four straight to make it an 8-2 run and take a 14-13 lead with 8:12 to go in regulation
- GWU regained the lead with back-to-back strikes. Koniencki scored her final goal of the day with 3:07 to tie the game at 15-all, but Gately fired home the game-winner with 2:45 on the clock
